RED TAILS, UNDERWORLD, & VAMPIRE MOVIES

This week we discuss our one week anniversary. The past, present, and future of the DAMN GOOD MOVIE SHOW. We also discuss the new movie CONTRABAND. In the news George Lucas had to fight to get Red Tails released, George Takei Facebook postings, Lionsgate buys Summit Entertainment, and a remake of Police Academy.

  1. I do not understand Dwayne’s fascination with Moneyball. Yes it is a good film, and a lock for Best Adapted Screenplay, but I just do not see it as a worthy best picture contender. I am still shocked that it got nominated for both the Golden Globes and the Oscars. The last act completely undermines the film. While Pitt is decent his performance is by no means that memorable. Jonah Hill and Hoffman stood out far more than Pitt.

Also, as much as I love Midnight in Paris, The Artist is a far better film. The Artist is a reminder of why we fall in love with films in the first place.

As for Haywire, I enjoyed the film. To be fair to the boss in the beach scene, there is no one in that film that could match Carano. Fassbender was probably the closest but we know how that plays out.
